Why can’t we be allowed to read our speeches as long as we don’t give off a monotone voice? This would make my life so much easier.
She wants us to give our speeches in a way where we don’t plan out exactly what were gonna say, just the main ideas of it so that when we speak it’ll sound natural. I’m sure that that’s great for other people, but I cant think clearly once I’m standing in front of the whole class. The last two speeches I ended up memorizing, which I know helped because I honestly don’t even remember when and what I was talking about, everything I memorized just came out of my mouth once I started talking and I guess it sounded natural since I got an A lol.
I’m tired of this memorization thing, though. I’ve planned what I want to say for my next speech, but it seems like a lot to memorize, and we’re only allowed to use notes to slightly glance at.
But I guess reading goes against giving speeches since you have to make eye contact and all that other good stuff. However, I know of other speech classes where they were allowed to read their speech. Oh well. I need to stop complaining and start memorizing this.
